Description
Choosing the right plan for your email marketing depends on a few key factors, such as the size of your contact list, the frequency of sending your campaigns, and the tools you need. Here's a practical guide to help you determine what best suits your needs.
Why this is important
Selecting the appropriate email marketing plan is crucial for maximizing your return on investment while ensuring you have access to the features and capacity you need. An undersized plan can limit your growth and force you to upgrade mid-campaign, while an oversized plan wastes resources on unused features and capacity. The right plan choice directly impacts your ability to execute effective campaigns, maintain consistent communication with your audience, and scale your email marketing efforts as your business grows.
What to look for in your plan choice
Contact list size
Plans are based on the number of contacts you manage. It's important to select a plan that accommodates your current list size and leaves room for future growth.
Sending limits
Each plan includes a specific sending limit. Evaluate the frequency of your campaigns to ensure the plan you choose matches your sending needs.
Included features
Each plan comes with tools to help you create campaigns, but some plans include exclusive features, including:
- Behavioral segmentation: Create more targeted campaigns by grouping your audience based on actions like opens and clicks, instead of just preferences
- Drip automation: Automate email sequences, such as onboarding series or promotional follow-ups, to save time and maintain engagement
- A/B Testing: Experiment with different subject lines, designs, or content to see what resonates best with your audience
- Popups and landing pages: Grow your audience by creating popups and landing pages that draw people to your products or services.
Deleting or Unsubscribing Contacts
When a contact is deleted or unsubscribes, it is removed from the list immediately. However, the total number of contacts used for billing is updated only at the start of the next billing cycle.
Example:
- October 1 → 10,000 contacts
- October 10 → 500 contacts deleted
- Billing remains based on 10,000 contacts until November 1, when the system recalculates to 9,500.
Result: changes in your contact count are reflected at the beginning of the next billing period.
Suppressed contacts still count. A contact that is on your suppression list but still present on a list is counted in your billable total. To stop being billed for them, delete them from the list — the change applies at the next billing cycle.
Accepted payment methods
